Today, Zaxby’s announced its renewal with Misfits Gaming Group’s Florida Mayhem and has added a partnership with the Florida Mutineers. With this new extended partnership, Zaxby’s will be doubling down on its commitment to esports, connecting further with the gaming community. The brand will be expanding into the Call of Duty space, one of the largest esports titles in the world.
In 2020, the Florida Mayhem launched a comprehensive partnership with Zaxby’s that included the “Match Time Meal” activation along with online tailgating parties and custom content with the players. With more than 900 total locations and nearly 100 in Florida, Zaxbys’ chain of premium quick service restaurants is best known for its chicken wings, chicken fingers and signature sauces.
“The Florida Mayhem & Florida Mutineers are, no doubt, the best in their class and we’re looking forward to expanding our partnership with one of the best organizations in the game,” said Joel Bulger, CMO of Zaxby’s. “As the esports and gaming industry continues to flourish, we are grateful to be able to connect Zaxby’s to its highly engaged audience.”
With the partnership renewal and expansion this year, Zaxby’s will become synonymous with the gaming community by having a brand-new jersey patch on the Florida Mutineers’ sleeve for the upcoming Call of Duty League 2021 season, as well as a new sleeve patch for the Florida Mayhem, soon to be heading into the 2021 season for the Overwatch League. Zaxby’s will continue its “Match Time Meal” activation with both teams, with additional support via the Zaxby’s mobile app.
“Zaxby’s has been a tremendous partner thus far and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow alongside them in the year ahead,” said Justin Stefanovic, VP of Partnerships for Misfits Gaming Group. “They have a tremendous passion for esports and gaming and we’re very excited to strengthen the bond between gamers and their delicious chicken.”
