Misfits gaming launches $20m creator fund.

Today, Misfits Gaming Group (Misfits) announced the launch of the $20 million Misfits Creator Fund aimed at providing creators and influencers with the resources and infrastructure to easily implement projects that are innovative, creative, ambitious, and sustainable.

Open to all creators, the fund will allow Misfits to create custom-tailored solutions to help bring these original projects to life.  Projects will range from large-scale content ideas such as more highly-produced television or streaming shows; events, live shows, and conventions; merchandise lines either produced exclusively by the creator or in partnership with an established brand; as well as new technology and business ideas such as software, hardware, B2B, B2C, or “C2C” (Creator-to-Consumer) offerings.

The Misfits Creator Fund allows Misfits to enter into true business partnerships with creators, beyond just a standard influencer/creator sponsorship relationship.  Misfits will open doors for creators – helping them navigate areas of the business outside of esports and gaming such as partnerships with sponsors, content development for sale and distribution, monetization of concepts, etc.

Depending upon the needs of the project, Misfits will supply creators with everything from financial investment to HR, marketing and operations resources, revenue modeling and strategy, M&A strategy, partnerships and sales, production, and more.  Additionally, creators will have access to all Misfits resources.

“Any creator will tell you that once things start to click, this ride can really turn into a rocket ship. So many opportunities start not only accelerating toward you, but you now find yourself in a position to be more proactive in building a bigger vision for what you aim to create and accomplish,” said QTCinderella“It can become a constant struggle to juggle what you’re currently doing that has started to build a following, while continuing to expand your capacity to execute on other interesting projects, so something like the Misfits Creator Fund becomes an interesting set of resources that can help provide creators with the tools and the team to more easily bring these ideas to life.”

“The Misfits Creator Fund is designed to be a true partnership with creator talent, helping to support and shoulder many of the headaches involved with launching large-scale projects so they, in turn, have the full headspace to concoct and create ambitious and exciting new ideas,” said Ben Spoont, co-founder and CEO of Misfits Gaming Group.

Beginning this year, Misfits placed an expanded emphasis on supporting creator talent and has been heavily involved in the building and execution of TubNet, the highly-anticipated cross-platform Minecraft server that aims to provide a fun and engaging community space to gather, talk, and play exciting original content.  In addition to TubNet, Misfits will fund and support upcoming projects with their existing creators including a Chess-themed show with American chess Grandmaster and streamer Hikaru Nakamura, a show and event series with creator Ranboo, and a podcast with creator Aimsey. Misfits also announces that Twitch streamer and YouTuber, QTCinderella has joined the organization as both influencer and creator and, as part of her partnership with Misfits and the creator fund, the organization will help fuel and grow an events management and production company.

Misfits is on a mission to partner with top creators from the gaming and streaming community and will work with them to build projects they’re passionate about.  Misfits is also seeking talent who share the same values of creating a better and more inclusive gaming industry.
