MGG partners with Fanaply to launch inaugural digital collectible (NFTs)

THE NFT COLLECTION WILL COMMEMORATE THE FLORIDA MUTINEERS, A MISFITS GAMING GROUP ESPORTS FRANCHISE, ASCENDING TO THE CALL OF DUTY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE FOUR-DROP COLLECTION WILL PRIORITIZE FAN ACCESS BY PROVIDING NO AND LOW-COST OPTIONS STARTING AUGUST 16

With 210 CDL Points and a 2021 season record of 60 wins and 30 losses, The Florida Mutineers of the Call of Duty League (CDL) are entering the playoffs as the eighth seed. To commemorate the esports franchise’s first playoff appearance, Misfits Gaming Group (MGG), the team’s parent company has partnered with top digital collectibles developer, Fanaply to release four accessible, yet exclusive virtual assets in the lead up to the league’s Championship Weekend on August 19 – 22, 2021.

Available at Fanaply.com/floridamutineers beginning on August 16, 2021, the ‘Mutineers C21 NFT Collection,’ is MGG’s first officially licensed non-fungible token (NFT) series and reflects the organization’s commitment to including and engaging fans with accessible content. Traditionally, NFT launches are defined by hype-fueled auctions that quickly price the scarce digital assets out of reach for most fans. This partnership however offers various no and low-cost options for fans to acquire.

Designed by the Florida Mutineers esports team, Misfits Gaming Group and Fanaply worked to produce these NFTs using the Ethereum blockchain. They can be bought, sold or traded via the Fanaply website or on a secondary marketplace.

Non-fungible tokens, or NFT’s are digital assets; be it a static image, motion graphic, a short video clip or any virtual file, that are ‘minted’ upon publically available, community-based and system-shared ledgers called blockchains. Open access to those ledgers ensures authenticity, availability and a demand-centered marketplace that’s ripe for speculation. As we see in traditional speculation-based markets like common stock trading or even rare sports card trading, investors acquire, sell and purchase ‘tokens’ with the expectation that they’ll soon rise in value. The NFT market has reached absolute mass appeal since it’s emergence earlier this year with fans of culturally-relevant organizations like sports teams, music labels and even other esports orgs acquiring thousands of unique tokens.

“Celebrating your team and being part of historic moments is what makes esports fans so unique,” said Lagen Nash, CRO of Misfits Gaming Group. “In this partnership with Fanaply, we’re enabling fans to do just that by offering an ultra-accessible opportunity to own a digital reflection of this inaugural moment in Florida Mutineer history.”

Unlike many other blockchain platforms, Fanaply builds environmentally friendly NFTs by creating a proprietary system that dramatically reduces energy consumption. You can learn more about their unique, eco-friendly approach here: https://fanaply.com/faq#environment

“Bringing limited-edition digital assets to the fans of esports and Misfits Gaming is central to Fanaply’s belief that NFTs are a fun, engaging, new and exciting way to support your favorite team,” said Grant Dexter, co-founder and CEO of Fanaply. “They not only let fans commemorate amazing moments, milestones and experiences of the teams, games and communities they love, but for the first time in history, fans can actually have true portable digital ownership. Our NFTs are inclusive, environmentally friendly and can seamlessly integrate into teams’ existing sales, marketing and promotional strategies to create incremental revenue, real fan engagement and unlock digital and real-world rewards.”

Fanaply boasts a diverse roster of partners across the music, sports and entertainment space. In 2021 alone, Fanaply has launched official NFTs with NHL teams New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, NASCAR teams 23XI Racing and JTG Daugherty Racing, the 2021 Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs Racetrack, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and most recently, the first NFTs for American Express and Grammy-nominated artist SZA. In 2019, Fanaply announced its first endeavor in the live events and entertainment space via a partnership with Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, powering their digital collectibles program.
