Today, Misfits Gaming Group (MGG), headquartered in Boca Raton, and Baptist Health South Florida, announced their partnership to promote better health in esports athletes. Baptist Health will be the exclusive healthcare and wellness partner for MGG and they will be granted naming rights for the new exercise and wellness area in the new MGG headquarters in Boca Raton.
The physical health program will focus on players and streamers’ commitment to stretches and exercises to help alleviate pain, stiffness, and injury, and will become part of the wider wellness program alongside activities to promote better mental health.
“The physical and mental wellbeing of our players is incredibly important to us, and something we’ve been heavily investing in more and more each year,” said Justin Stefanovic, SVP of Partnerships at Misfits Gaming Group. “Baptist Health is the perfect partner for us to level up our physical wellness efforts. We’re excited to have trained professionals working with our players to create tailored programs aimed to help them prepare for everything from long training sessions to big tournaments.”
“Baptist Health is proud to partner with Misfits Gaming Group to promote better health in the exciting world of esports competition,” said Lincoln Mendez, Chief Executive Officer at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. “As MGG cultivates top talent in the esports industry, we are excited to serve as leaders in healthcare and wellness to provide the best care for these top athletes in South Florida.”
MGG and Baptist Health will collaborate to create and generate content focused on supporting the physical and mental health of gamers.
Although this is the first official sponsorship between the two partners, they are no strangers to working together. MGG has previously worked with Baptist Health supporting the Miami Cancer Institute’s HEAT.HELP.CURE and Bounce Back from Cancer initiatives, supporting local communities in their home state of Florida.
